The 2024 China (Shanghai) International Sealing Industry Exhibition was grandly held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from December 18th to 20th, 2024! More than 600 enterprises from over 10 countries and regions participated in the exhibition. Shantian  New Materials Group Co., Ltd. made its debut appearance, attracting widespread attention from both domestic and foreign customers.

During this exhibition, Shantian  Group showcased its core products such as silicon carbide micro-powder, diamond wire saws, silicon carbide ceramics, etc., while also launching a new product: expandable graphite. This product boasts excellent properties including high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, high thermal conductivity, high adsorption capacity, high expansion ratio, low density, and non-toxic and harmless characteristics. It has extensive applications in various fields such as heat conductive materials, sealing materials, biomedicine, aerospace, energy chemistry, etc. Shantian  Group employs intelligent control technology and builds production lines for product process and quality control based on big data analysis. The produced expandable graphite products have leading quality in the industry. The exhibition attracted numerous domestic and foreign customers for on-site exchanges, with 11 customers expressing intentions to cooperate.

It is understood that natural flake graphite is composed of carbon elements with a hexagonal network planar layered structure, having a large interlayer spacing, and the binding force between layers is very weak. Under appropriate conditions, various chemical substances such as acids, alkalis, metals, and salts can be inserted into the graphite layers, combining with carbon atoms to form a new chemical phase - intercalated compounds of graphite, abbreviated as GIC. When heated to an appropriate temperature, this type of intercalated compound can decompose rapidly, producing a large amount of gas, causing the graphite to expand axially into a worm-like new substance, which is expanded graphite. This unexpanded graphite intercalation compound is called expandable graphite.
